What the thread found

• A vest is the most personal component of a Steadicam rig due to direct contact with the operator's body.
• Trying vests during extended workshops or actual operating work reveals differences in weight placement and balance that brief try-ons cannot demonstrate.
• Proper fitting by a tailor and correct body positioning are essential for vest performance.
• The PRO vest can maintain excellent fit and function across decades when tailored measurements are preserved.
• The Exovest may improve operating comfort and reduce fatigue for some operators.
• Weight distribution and overall comfort vary significantly between the Exovest and Ultra Vest depending on individual body type and preferences.
• The Exovest features back-mount capability, an advantage not available on the Ultra Vest.
• Converting an Exovest between standard and goofy orientations involves flipping the socket block assembly and can be done in one minute for a temporary change or ten to fifteen minutes for a full conversion including waist panel adjustment.

Depends on

• The comparison is based primarily on subjective experiences rather than technical measurements.
• Most participants had not tried all three vest models, limiting comprehensive comparison.
• One operator had not tried the Exovest or Ultra Vest despite extensive PRO vest experience.
• Vest preference appears highly dependent on individual body type and personal fit rather than objective performance metrics.
• The thread does not provide detailed technical specifications or performance data.
