What the thread found
- Preston MDR2 receivers operate at 12 volts and can function on power supplies as low as 11 volts, drawing approximately 46.2 watts or 4.2 amps at full specification
Depends on
- Power draw specifications vary between Preston MDR1 and MDR2 models
- Current draw can spike to approximately 1 amp per motor when motors reach end stops during calibration
- D-tap socket output capacity varies depending on camera model and socket type
- Powering from camera D-tap on battery plate may create weight distribution issues for sled-mounted rigs
- Some users reported success while others expressed uncertainty about whether D-tap output capacity was sufficient
