Methods to add weight to the bottom of a Pro 2 sled with old-style battery hanger
What the thread found
- A landing pad originally made for the generation 2 battery hanger can mount around an angled battery and allow the sled to sit on the ground, potentially modified to hold additional weight without blocking the battery
- Gold mount plates designed for battery hangers can have weights screwed or mounted to them, provided the battery plate is not in use
- Small drilled and tapped mounting plates can be attached to accessory points on either side of the lower electronics to hold dive weights, allowing balanced weight distribution
- Aftermarket threaded 1/4-20 screw weights designed for monitors can be attached to any threaded hole
- Exercise wrist weights can be attached to monitor mount rails as a low-cost solution
- Small weight blocks can be inserted inside the lower electronics junction box
- A mounting block compatible with the sled post weighs nearly 2 pounds and provides substantial ballast
Depends on
- Availability of the generation 2 landing pad is uncertain
- The landing pad modification to hold weight was suggested but not confirmed as tested
- Gold mount weight solutions require not using a battery plate
- The exercise wrist weight and junction box weight solutions are mentioned without detailed confirmation
