Compatibility and setup considerations when using Volt gimbal systems with Artemis 2 and M2 sleds
Note (as of October 2026)Curt O. Schaller, the developer of Artemis and Trinity, has no longer been with ARRI since the end of 2025. To our knowledge, ARRI currently has no dedicated team and no official contact persons for its stabilizer systems. In our view, the future of this line is uncertain. If you are buying new, get written confirmation from ARRI beforehand on how long service and spare parts are guaranteed. Have used rigs checked by the manufacturer before you buy.
What the thread found
- Artemis 2 offers modularity that allows future upgrades to Trinity 2 without equipment replacement
- Artemis 2 typically maintains better resale value compared to M2 when planning equipment changes
- Volt kit adaptation requires using the Artemis post specifically designed for Volt rather than the standard 1.8 post size
- Both Arri and Tiffen docking brackets are functionally compatible, with choice depending on personal preference and comfort
- Older Artemis docking models are less ergonomic than newer Arri docking designs
- Using an Arri docking bracket with a third-party accessory is a viable alternative to switching to Tiffen docking
Depends on
- The experience with Volt integration applies specifically to Artemis generation 1 with 1.5 post and may vary with different configurations
- Older Artemis docking model feedback is based on one user's experience rather than systematic testing
- Volt 3 compatibility with Artemis 2 was raised as an open question without definitive answer in the thread
- No detailed performance comparison between Arri and Tiffen docking brackets was provided
