Adjusting 3A arm socket block for right-side operation
18 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.
What the thread found
- The socket block on a 3A arm male side requires side-to-side trim adjustment via two rod end bearings when switching to right-side operation
- Rod end bearing adjustment is performed using a quarter-inch Allen key, typically with the top bearing extended one and a half to two turns and the bottom bearing nearly fully retracted for front-mounted vests
- Back-mounted vests require different rod end positioning with both bearings nearly fully retracted
- Rod end adjustment is individual and varies by user rather than having a universal setting
- The adjustment procedure must be repeated each time the arm is swapped between left and right side operation
Depends on
- The specific settings provided are for front-mounted vests only
- Settings may vary depending on individual setup and rig configuration
- These adjustments were learned in a workshop context but individual practice may reveal different optimal positions
