Compatibility of dovetail plates with steadicam sleds and tripod mounts
What the thread found
- XCS offers two variants of dovetail plates with different widths, not all 8.4 mm
- Current XCS Standard and XCS Side Adjustable plates in standard version do not fit Betz-Tools topstage or tripod plate
- Plates that are 9mm or thicker, including Tiffen, Betz, and XCS plates, can fit on the M1 sled
- The M1 sled has an adjustable mechanism with a single screw that allows tolerance for different plate widths
- Older versions of XCS Standard plates may fit Betz-Tools equipment, while newer versions do not
Depends on
- Information about XCS Side Adjustable Plate LT version compatibility with Betz-Tools is uncertain
- Exact XCS plate variant used in the M1 compatibility test was not specified
- All information represents experience as of September 2017 and may have changed
