Archer 2 gimbal with Volt module: balance shifts after 180-degree pan—centering and counterweight adjustment.
What the thread found
- When an Archer 2 with Volt module exhibits balance loss after a 180-degree pan, either the gimbal is not centered, the Volt module requires additional counterweight, or both.
- One operator reported an M2 gimbal that arrived uncentered from the factory; after centering, shim washers had to be added as counterweight to the Volt electronics assembly.
- The manufacturer supplied spacing shims upon request to adjust gimbal centering.
- Even slight left-right misalignment of the gimbal changes the balance behavior during panning.
Depends on
- Gimbal centering tolerance and Volt module mass distribution affect balance symmetry.
