2023From a Facebook group: Arri Artemis Trinity

Eliminating vibration of the Volt control box on ARRI Artemis during full motor load through rigid mounting alternatives to the standard ARRI SSB-3 bracket.

Note (as of October 2026)Curt O. Schaller, the developer of Artemis and Trinity, has no longer been with ARRI since the end of 2025. To our knowledge, ARRI currently has no dedicated team and no official contact persons for its stabilizer systems. In our view, the future of this line is uncertain. If you are buying new, get written confirmation from ARRI beforehand on how long service and spare parts are guaranteed. Have used rigs checked by the manufacturer before you buy.

What the thread found

  • The factory ARRI SSB-3 mount for the Volt control brain is too compliant and makes the Volt nearly unusable on ARRI Artemis 1 and 2 when motors run at full power.
  • One operator solved this using Cam-Jam 15 mm rods in front of the Volt box plus an ARRI 15 mm adapter on the Artemis 2 top stage: very stiff, short, close to the stage, vibration-free.
  • An alternative is an inline holder that clamps the Volt via its electronics ports, with 50 mm rods extending from the nose of the top or bottom stage for accessories and AKS.
  • A 15 mm ARRI clamp (like those used for a second monitor) mounted directly to the top or bottom stage has been praised as bomb-proof, requiring no adapter chain.
  • The rigid mounts align the Volt box in line with the stage and keep all connectors accessible.
  • One operator is working with a custom parts manufacturer to develop a dedicated mounting solution.

Depends on

  • Whether a direct screw connection to the stage is possible or an adapter chain is required remains unconfirmed.
