Using CineLive tally connector as power source for SmallHD monitor
12 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.
What the thread found
- A 4-pin lemo connector with 12 volt output can potentially power a SmallHD DP7 Pro OLED monitor if wired correctly
- Standard 4-pin lemo connectors on cinema rigs typically have ground on pin 1, 12 volt on pin 2, and other functions on pins 3 and 4
- Checking the actual wiring of a cable with a multimeter before connecting it to expensive equipment is the recommended safety practice
- The upper junction tally output on a sled provides 12 volt power
Depends on
- This discussion concerns specific equipment models from around 2014 and may not apply to current versions
- No confirmation was provided that this power connection actually worked successfully
- The monitor model mentioned does not have a dedicated tally input, limiting full integration with tally systems
