Balancing and setup procedures for low-mode gimbal operation
17 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.
What the thread found
- When operating in low mode, the camera should be balanced with the lens pointing downward rather than upward to prevent the sled from trying to flip the camera back to normal orientation during flight.
- If side-to-side balance issues occur during operation, adjustments can be made to the arm connection bolt settings to correct the problem.
- The aircraft pin should pass through the F-bracket with equal spacing on both sides of the hole.
Depends on
- The advice is specific to a particular gimbal setup from 2009 and may not apply to modern equipment.
- The lateral movement experienced by the original poster was not fully resolved in this discussion; battery repositioning and weight adjustments were suggested but their effectiveness was not confirmed.
