Mounting gyroscopes to camera sleds using quick-release brackets
15 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.
What the thread found
- Element Technica V-Lock quick-release mounts work well for battery plates and accessories but are not recommended for securing heavy gyroscopes due to vibration concerns.
- A rigid mounting system without quick-release mechanisms is preferable for gyroscopes because they require solid attachment to minimize vibrations during operation.
- Sixteen by Nine Cinelock quick-release systems offer a more robust connection than V-Lock mounts with multiple fastening points on both sides.
- Standard quick-release systems across a sled setup can consolidate mounting for batteries, transmitters, and other accessories while still using separate, more secure solutions for gyroscopes.
Depends on
- Thread does not include specifications or testing data comparing vibration isolation between different mounting systems.
- User promises to upload supporting pictures and technical details but the post does not confirm whether these were ever provided.
- Discussion focuses on general concerns about vibration rather than quantified performance metrics.
- Cartoni system details were not fully described in the available thread content.
