Bartech wireless follow focus motor experiencing random twitching and vibration issues
13 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.
What the thread found
- Random motor twitching and vibration can occur on older Bartech systems even when the hand unit is not being touched
- Fresh batteries in the receiver and motor can temporarily resolve twitching symptoms
- The potentiometer inside the M-One motor is the component that wears out and causes intermittent failure leading to random vibration and attempted position locking
- The potentiometer will eventually wear out regardless of manufacturing quality, causing gradual intermittent failures rather than complete failure
- Replacing the potentiometer is the permanent solution to motor twitching and vibration problems
- Motor service and potentiometer replacement may be available at no charge if the unit is relatively new and shipping costs are covered
Depends on
- Applies specifically to older 8-bit Bartech systems with M-One motors
- Fresh battery fix appears temporary rather than permanent
- The claim about free replacement is based on individual experience and characterized as uncertain
- No technical specifications provided about what constitutes potentiometer wear or failure mechanisms
