Powering BFD follow focus receiver from Sony F5/55 Hirose connector

What the thread found
- The Hirose 1.8A connector on Sony F5/55 cameras can power a BFD receiver with FMG-6 motors, but current draw during lens stops can momentarily exceed the connector rating and trip the fuse.
- FMG-6 motors typically draw under 1.5 amps, while BFD receivers draw maximum 3 amps only under worst-case conditions.
- Paralleling two 1.8A Hirose circuits or using a D-Tap power adapter provides more reliable power delivery than relying on a single Hirose connector.
Depends on
- The claim about safety margins comes from a manufacturer communication and was not independently verified in the thread.
- Experience reported is specific to FMG-6 motor setup.
- The assertion that connector amperage ratings apply only to plug/unplug events rather than continuous draw is stated but not substantiated.
