Pro gimbal tilt issues after cleaning and alternative oil use
What the thread found
- Using a substitute motor bearing oil instead of manufacturer-specified oil may affect gimbal performance after disassembly and reassembly.
- Loose screws on the yolk bearing assembly under the trunnion cap can cause tilting drift when the gimbal is tilted beyond approximately 45 degrees and then released.
- Trunnion end caps should not make contact with or rub against the screw heads of the bearing assembly.
- Tilt bearing screws should be tightened rather than left loose.
Depends on
- The user substituted Trinity Perpetual Motion Ultra Lightweight motor bearing oil for the manufacturer's recommended oil, which may have contributed to the problem.
- The exact specifications for proper tightness of bearing screws and acceptable play in the pan assembly were not definitively established in the thread.
- The user did not remove tilt bearings during cleaning, so the full extent of disassembly may not have been performed according to standard procedures.
- Final resolution was pending consultation with manufacturer support.
