Replacing a missing pull pin on a Zephyr Vest socket block bracket
What the thread found
- The pull-pin assembly on the socket block bracket is typically pressed into the mounting plate and would need to be pressed out and replaced by a service center.
- If the mounting holes on the vest spar pass completely through, a bolt can be threaded from the back side of the spar through the socket block mounting plate and secured with a nut on the front as a temporary fix.
- The pull pin functions as a safety mechanism, but the locking screw and the off-center tension of the rig can provide sufficient holding force even without it.
- The manufacturer's support team can advise on replacement parts or in-warranty service for missing components.
Depends on
- The temporary bolt workaround is not an official solution and should only be used short-term while awaiting repair options.
- Memory-based description of the assembly process may not be completely accurate for all vest models or production years.
