Custom adapter plate design for mounting video equipment with multiple mounting standards
13 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.
What the thread found
- A universal mounting plate can be designed to accept multiple industry-standard mounts including RED V-Mount, IDX, Element Technica V-Wedge adapters, Wooden Camera A-Mount adapters, and Anton/Bauer connections.
- The plate can incorporate various threaded hole patterns such as 9mm on-center 1/4-20 holes (RED standard spacing), 1 inch on-center 10-32 tapped holes (Berkey System AKS), and 3/8-16 tapped holes to accommodate different accessories.
- Two plates can be screwed together with accessories clamped between them, enabling mounting of devices without built-in mounting points such as signal converters.
- Custom Anton/Bauer posts can be designed to attach to the plate with the ability to mirror or rotate them 180 degrees for flexible positioning.
- A modular plate design allows for future compatible accessories like power distribution units to be developed for use with the system.
