Powering a BFD wireless follow focus receiver from a camera sled
18 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.
What the thread found
- A BFD receiver can be powered from a dedicated 12V lemo connector on a camera sled, allowing accessories like the BFD, monitor, level, and music player to share one power circuit
- Powering multiple BFDs from 4-pin lemo connectors on a sled keeps all accessories on 12V supply
- When using a three-battery sled setup, one battery can be dedicated to powering accessories
Depends on
- The discussion references a specific sled model and does not address powering from switchable 12-24V lemo connectors
- The practical performance and reliability of this configuration was not tested or discussed in detail
- Battery runtime implications of this power distribution were not covered
