LED battery meter modification for steadicam power distribution
18 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.
Note (as of October 2026)Curt O. Schaller, the developer of Artemis and Trinity, has no longer been with ARRI since the end of 2025. To our knowledge, ARRI currently has no dedicated team and no official contact persons for its stabilizer systems. In our view, the future of this line is uncertain. If you are buying new, get written confirmation from ARRI beforehand on how long service and spare parts are guaranteed. Have used rigs checked by the manufacturer before you buy.
What the thread found
- A custom LED battery meter can be added to a steadicam bottom sled that displays voltage status for each battery using color-coded indicators
- The LED meter uses four LEDs per battery showing green for 14-13 volts, yellow for 12 volts, and red for 11 volts
- The LED placement mirrors the physical battery positions when viewed from the side for intuitive interpretation
- The modification works optimally with the three-battery power distribution configuration but remains functional with other power distribution blocks
- Comparable LED battery display systems exist on other steadicam models such as those using Cine HD sleds
Depends on
- This was a custom modification with pricing around 300 dollars but may vary based on individual circumstances
- The LED configuration is optimized for a specific three-battery power distribution setup
- Availability and turnaround time depend on the service provider's workflow
