Bartech follow focus system motor unresponsiveness and receiver failure
13 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.
What the thread found
- A Bartech follow focus receiver can overheat and become unresponsive to motor commands while still powering on and displaying indicator lights.
- Plugging a connector into the wrong Lemo port on a Bartech receiver can cause the RF module to fail.
- A fried motor control chip in the Bartech receiver will prevent the motor from responding during calibration even when all connections appear correct.
- The manufacturer can replace a damaged motor chip in the receiver as a repair service.
Depends on
- The exact cause of the motor chip failure was not determined in this case.
- No specific information provided about which Lemo connector was used incorrectly or how to identify the correct ports.
- This is an analog system, so findings may not apply to digital versions.
- Discussion thread from 2013, so current product configurations may differ.
