Monitor bracket options compatible with 15mm rod systems for camera rigs
13 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.
Note (as of October 2026)Curt O. Schaller, the developer of Artemis and Trinity, has no longer been with ARRI since the end of 2025. To our knowledge, ARRI currently has no dedicated team and no official contact persons for its stabilizer systems. In our view, the future of this line is uncertain. If you are buying new, get written confirmation from ARRI beforehand on how long service and spare parts are guaranteed. Have used rigs checked by the manufacturer before you buy.
What the thread found
- Sachtler manufactures a tilting monitor arm, but its rod diameter is smaller than 15mm and therefore not compatible with standard 15mm rod systems
- The Cinetronic telescoping arm uses 15mm rods and is compatible with standard monitor yokes, with pricing around $495
- The Cinetronic arm has reduced stability and vibration performance, making it less suitable for heavier monitors
- The XCS monitor bracket has been in use for extended periods and functions reliably, though it does not use 15mm rods
- The Artemis monitor bracket is described as lightweight, rigid, and well-constructed
- A custom solution can be created by purchasing an XCS clamp and having a machinist modify it for 15mm rod compatibility
- Key qualities for monitor brackets include rigidity, light weight, and a design that positions the monitor low on the rig
Depends on
- Sachtler's rod diameter was not definitively confirmed with calibrated measurement tools
- Cinetronic arm stability is compromised with heavier monitors
- The Artemis bracket assessment is based on limited user feedback
- Discussion is from 2013 and some product availability may have changed
- No direct comparison testing between all mentioned bracket options was conducted
