Finding replacement cheeseplate for old Video SK camera rig
16 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.
What the thread found
- A current Flyer dovetail plate with part number 601-7412 and list price around $350 USD can fit older Video SK rigs as a replacement for a lost cheeseplate
- An EFP dovetail plate may also be compatible with older Video SK equipment
- Custom machining of a replacement cheeseplate can take several days of work and result in significantly higher costs than purchasing a compatible aftermarket part
Depends on
- The compatibility claims are based on the specific Video SK model from the 1990s discussed in the thread
- No explicit confirmation that either dovetail plate is a perfect fit; original poster was still verifying compatibility
- Pricing information is from 2010 and may not reflect current costs
