Bartech FIZ follow focus system with multi-channel iris and future zoom capability
14 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.
What the thread found
- The Bartech system can transmit focus and iris control signals on the same wireless channel, allowing multiple camera setups to operate simultaneously on the same frequency band.
- A digital receiver provides 16 channel positions (0-9 and A-F) where positions 0-7 handle focus, while A, B, and C are reserved for iris control on different channels.
- Zoom control using positions D, E, and F is planned for future implementation in the wireless protocol.
- An analog motor driver can handle focus control while a separate digital motor driver controls iris, allowing flexibility in manual focus input options like hardwired focus boxes or external controllers.
- Manual focus control cannot currently be hardwired directly to a digital receiver, making the analog receiver preferable for live television work where operator focus control is required.
Depends on
- Manual hardwire focus control options are limited to analog receivers at the time of discussion.
- Zoom functionality was not yet implemented and only reserved in the protocol specification.
- The discussion does not clarify channel assignments D, E, F beyond zoom reservation.
