Artemis MINI sled concept with short centerpost for lightweight camera rigs
Note (as of October 2026)Curt O. Schaller, the developer of Artemis and Trinity, has no longer been with ARRI since the end of 2025. To our knowledge, ARRI currently has no dedicated team and no official contact persons for its stabilizer systems. In our view, the future of this line is uncertain. If you are buying new, get written confirmation from ARRI beforehand on how long service and spare parts are guaranteed. Have used rigs checked by the manufacturer before you buy.
What the thread found
- A short centerpost extension can be used as the sole support structure for an entire rig, creating a compact camera platform.
- This approach became practical with the arrival of lightweight professional cameras like the Alexa Mini.
- The sled is designed to be compatible with any rig featuring a removable top stage, excluding Tiffen M1 rigs.
- The monitor is mounted directly on the gimbal, which requires a brief learning period but becomes intuitive quickly.
- The sled has a significantly smaller horizontal footprint compared to other camera support systems like AR, Alien, or Lynn axis rigs.
- Customizable wiring options are available for integration with different rigs.
Depends on
- The concept was developed as a proof of concept at a trade show and its full production status is unclear.
- Compatibility is limited to rigs with removable top stages.
- Experience is based on limited testing at a trade show.
- The monitor placement on the gimbal may not suit all operators or shooting scenarios.
