Powering a Bartech wireless follow focus receiver from an Archer II stabilizer's 3-pin Lemo connector
14 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.
What the thread found
- The Archer II has a 3-pin Lemo connector that provides both 12 and 24 volt options on different pins
- A Bartech digital receiver can accept voltage between 10 and 30 volts
- A Bartech analog receiver has a maximum voltage rating of 17 volts and will be damaged by 24 volts
- Running a Bartech digital receiver at 24 volts produces higher motor speed compared to 12 volts
- An adapter converting 2-pin Lemo to 3-pin Lemo may be wired for either the 12 or 24 volt pin depending on its origin
- The voltage being delivered through a custom adapter can be verified by measuring with a multimeter on the 2-pin side while powered
- Testing with a single 12 volt battery can confirm whether an adapter is carrying 12 volts without risk
- A purpose-made cable connecting the 3-pin Lemo directly to the follow focus receiver is the most reliable solution
Depends on
- The voltage specifications for analog receivers are stated from memory rather than confirmed documentation
- The specific wiring of the user's adapter cable cannot be determined without testing or visual inspection
- Whether the adapter uses the 12 or 24 volt pin was unknown without measurement
