Securing the battery post on a Steadicam Zephyr sled to prevent sliding

What the thread found

  • The battery mount can slide along the post even when the locking knob is tightened, which affects balance during operation.
  • The black plastic spacer on the post must be positioned between the battery plate and the post, with the tightening screw threaded through all three components in sequence to properly lock the mount in place.
  • Correct assembly of the spacer and screw prevents the battery mount from shifting along the post slot.

Depends on

  • This applies specifically to the Steadicam Zephyr model.
  • The solution assumes the presence of the black plastic spacer component.
