2022From a Facebook group: Arri Artemis Trinity
Weight reduction on an 83 lb rig using ARRI Trinity, Titan arm and PRO vest.
What the thread found
- Every weight mounted far from the post must be counterbalanced at the sled base.
- Accessories should be mounted as low as possible on the sled to improve balance.
- Wireless transmitters such as Teradek units should be positioned on the sled underside or below the camera rather than higher on the rig.
- Very lightweight matte boxes help reduce top-heavy mass; some operators rent custom base plates for Sony Venice that allow the focus motor to mount underneath the camera.
- Several operators expressed concern about operating such high loads on a front vest, noting safety and comfort implications.
Depends on
- Load distribution depends on specific component placements and sled geometry.
- The feasibility of custom base plates and alternative mounting depends on camera model and rental availability.
