Manufacturers of HD wireless transmitters decline to directly confirm safety when asked about carrying units against the body for extended periods
FCC documentation specifies power output and minimum safe distances for wireless transmitters, which can be reviewed on the FCC website
Using an extended thin BNC cable to move the transmitter away from the operator's body is a practical alternative to wearing it directly
Wireless HD transmitters operate at significantly lower power levels than WiFi routers, cell phones, and other wireless video systems
Multiple sources reported conflicting information about whether certain transmitter models comply with FCC regulations regarding antenna systems
Extending cable distance reduces signal loss compared to wireless operation, according to reports from DIT and DP feedback
Operating personnel expressed different risk assessment approaches, with some prioritizing potential long-term health effects and others citing other environmental health factors as more significant

Safety claims remain unresolved with no definitive answer from manufacturers or regulators
Some participants disputed whether specific transmitter models were FCC-compliant, with disagreement about antenna approval status
The discussion reflects concerns raised by unions and safety boards but provides no final investigation results
Practical implementation depends on crew coordination and acceptance by production leadership
No medical or scientific evidence was presented to support either the health concerns or the reassurances
