Zephyr gimbal clamp difficult to open by hand

What the thread found

  • A Zephyr gimbal clamp may become excessively tight and require an Allen key to adjust rather than opening by hand
  • The hex screw tension must be balanced to grip the gimbal firmly enough to prevent northward slippage during flight while remaining loose enough to open the clamp
  • If the clamp tension is set too loose, the gimbal can slip upward on the post during a shot, making the gimbal unflyable and undockable

Depends on

  • Specific model year 2012 Zephyr
  • The tightness issue may be model or age-specific
  • No detailed solution provided in the discussion
