What the thread found

• The Modulus 5000 HiDef Transmitter accepts an HD-SDI input signal and converts it to NTSC or PAL analog output.
• The device can output video in either 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio with letterbox or cropped formatting options.
• The transmitter accepts composite video input in addition to HD-SDI signals.
• The device supports both NTSC and PAL standards.
• Channel selection was changed from dual channel switches to push button controls in this model.
• The unit operates at a warmer temperature after a couple hours of use but does not become hot.
• Early testing with up-converted composite video to HD showed acceptable signal lock.
• The device outputs a standard definition analog signal suitable for use with standard monitors paired with existing modular receiving equipment.
• Pre-production models were being tested to gather feedback before full production.
• The unit size is noticeably larger than previous models.
• Estimated pricing was approximately 2500 dollars.

Depends on

• Initial testing was performed with up-converted composite video rather than native HD signals, which may not represent final performance characteristics.
• Testing with actual HD-SDI input and HD monitors had not been completed at the time of discussion.
• The unit tested was a pre-production model and not in final configuration.
• Full specifications were only available in PDF documentation not shared in the forum thread.
• Actual performance under field production conditions had not been thoroughly validated.
• The comparison to alternative solutions like the Decimator and Canatrans suggests overlapping functionality that was already available in the market.
