Pelvis bruising and fit adjustment with Artemis ACT2 vest during heavy payload work

Note (as of October 2026)Curt O. Schaller, the developer of Artemis and Trinity, has no longer been with ARRI since the end of 2025. To our knowledge, ARRI currently has no dedicated team and no official contact persons for its stabilizer systems. In our view, the future of this line is uncertain. If you are buying new, get written confirmation from ARRI beforehand on how long service and spare parts are guaranteed. Have used rigs checked by the manufacturer before you buy.

What the thread found

  • Bruising on pelvis bones can be reduced by positioning the vest lower on the hips rather than wearing it high on the body.
  • Loose front panels and raised back panels during heavy-load work may indicate the vest is positioned too high on the torso.
  • Loosening shoulder straps and adjusting the front spar to move chest straps lower toward the rib cage bottom can improve comfort and responsiveness.
  • Forward pelvic tilt during movement can increase discomfort and bruising, so maintaining upright posture while walking is important.
  • Hip pad positioning and additional foam padding of varying densities can be customized to improve fit and comfort for individual body types.
  • Vest fit is highly individual and may require modifications such as padding adjustments even after proper positioning.

Depends on

  • One user's brief experience with other vests at a workshop over a year prior, not from extended working use.
  • No consensus reached on whether the vest size itself was the primary issue versus positioning and adjustment.
  • Individual anatomical differences mean solutions may vary between users.
  • Subjective comfort observations without technical measurements of pressure distribution or bruise severity.
