Reducing arm impact noise on Master/Ultra turntable arms
13 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.
What the thread found
- Removing the stopper from a Master/Ultra arm reduces banging against the stop during operation
- Removing the stopper makes arm insertion and removal more difficult and requires care to avoid finger injury
- The stopper removal technique works particularly well with front-mount vests
Depends on
- The modification applies specifically to Master/Ultra arms with front-mount vests
- Removal procedure requires caution due to increased difficulty when handling the arm without the stopper
- Alternative approach of custom-machining a link similar to competitor models was mentioned but not validated
