G70X arm locking up and movement during boom operations with heavy payload
What the thread found
- When an arm sticks during boom movements with heavy loads, the issue may be a loose hex key fastener below the lift knob that can be tightened to resolve the problem.
- Worn rubber bumpers on the inside of arm segments can allow excessive movement and cause the arm to lock up, and adding tape to these bumpers may improve the situation as a temporary workaround.
- Adjusting the ride knob setting may not resolve sticking issues if the root cause is mechanical looseness rather than improper tension settings.
Depends on
- The solution involving the hex key fastener was confirmed only for one specific case and requires a specialized tool to tighten.
- The rubber bumper wear theory was based on observation and empirical testing with tape, not confirmed as an official fix.
- The issue occurred in a specific configuration with a heavy build and fully extended post on the SR3, which may not apply to all setups.
