Adjusting friction and responsiveness on Bartech analog follow focus remote
14 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.
What the thread found
- The Bartech analog follow focus with m-one motor has very light knob resistance that some operators find too responsive for precise control
- Preston remote handsets include an adjustable drag/friction control that allows operators to customize the feel of the handset, which can improve the sense of physical connection to focus adjustments
- The manufacturer indicated that increasing friction on the Bartech knob is not a feasible modification
- Calibration settings on Bartech digital systems do not retain their values when the receiver is powered off
Depends on
- The manufacturer stated no solution is available for modifying knob weight on the current Bartech design
- This discussion focuses on an analog Bartech model from 2012 and may not apply to newer versions
- No actual modifications to increase friction were successfully demonstrated in this thread
