Extending docking brackets on Flyer camera supports to enable full rotation checks
19 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.
What the thread found
- The standard docking bracket on a Flyer support is too short to allow 360-degree rotation of the camera for database checking
- Rotating a camera 360 degrees while mounted on a Flyer support is not technically necessary for database verification, though it may be convenient
- Extending a bracket by cantilevering the camera further away from a lightweight aluminum Flyer stand can create stability problems due to the increased weight moment
Depends on
- The discussion involves an older camera support model from 2007
- No custom bracket solution was documented or tested in this thread
- The specific weight and balance characteristics depend on the particular Flyer stand model and camera being used
