Operating a GPI PRO sled with B-Mount batteries instead of Gold Mount

Note (as of October 2026)Curt O. Schaller, the developer of Artemis and Trinity, has no longer been with ARRI since the end of 2025. To our knowledge, ARRI currently has no dedicated team and no official contact persons for its stabilizer systems. In our view, the future of this line is uncertain. If you are buying new, get written confirmation from ARRI beforehand on how long service and spare parts are guaranteed. Have used rigs checked by the manufacturer before you buy.

What the thread found

  • The GPI PRO sled is machined for Gold Mount batteries on its Bottom Stage, making direct B-Mount battery installation impractical without major modification.
  • B-Mount and Gold Mount plates differ substantially in physical dimensions and connector geometry.
  • The ARRI Artemis 2 natively supports 24 V B-Mount batteries, offering a contemporary alternative sled architecture.
  • One approach involves adapter plates to convert Gold Mount battery slots to V-Mount or B-Mount compatibility.
  • A DC/DC converter (24 V, 10 A output, 9–16 V input range) was proposed as a potential workaround to power the sled from a different voltage standard.
  • Voltage regulation and cable routing present additional challenges beyond the mechanical fit of the battery plate.

Depends on

  • Solution depends on sled age and exact Bottom Stage specifications.
  • Adapter and DC/DC converter options require confirmation of sled power input specifications.
