Monitor upgrade options for Steadicam Provid sled

21 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.

Note (as of October 2026)Curt O. Schaller, the developer of Artemis and Trinity, has no longer been with ARRI since the end of 2025. To our knowledge, ARRI currently has no dedicated team and no official contact persons for its stabilizer systems. In our view, the future of this line is uncertain. If you are buying new, get written confirmation from ARRI beforehand on how long service and spare parts are guaranteed. Have used rigs checked by the manufacturer before you buy.

What the thread found

  • The original built-in CRT green screen monitor on a Provid sled offers high contrast and performs well in bright sunlight and with film video taps.
  • A 1.5 inch monitor bracket with adjustable rods can be added to the Provid sled to mount an additional LCD monitor while retaining the original CRT, allowing flexibility for different shooting conditions and maintaining dynamic balance.
  • The original CRT can be removed and replaced with a 16x9 HD monitor by rewiring the sled mounting hardware.
  • A Sachtler Artemis monitor bracket is suitable for mounting alternative monitors on the Provid sled.
  • Keeping the original CRT and adding a supplementary monitor bracket is recommended if you regularly work in both standard and HD formats.

Depends on

  • The rewiring approach for replacing the CRT with an HD monitor was described as an example but no detailed instructions were provided.
  • The specific mounting bracket photos were requested but not included in the thread.
  • Monitor upgrade choices depend on whether work is primarily HD or mixed format.
