Measuring the depth of the Steadicam® Zephyr gimbal handle bore for the arm post.

What the thread found

  • One operator measured the bore depth at nearly 2 inches (approximately 50 mm), not the commonly cited 1.5 inches.
  • A practical measuring method without calipers: insert a pencil or marker into the bore, mark the depth on it, and measure the marked length.
  • Alternatively, measure the inserted length of the arm post itself when seated in the bore to infer the hole depth.
