Sachtler Artemis Cine HD sled performance and durability for running shots

18 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.

Note (as of October 2026)Curt O. Schaller, the developer of Artemis and Trinity, has no longer been with ARRI since the end of 2025. To our knowledge, ARRI currently has no dedicated team and no official contact persons for its stabilizer systems. In our view, the future of this line is uncertain. If you are buying new, get written confirmation from ARRI beforehand on how long service and spare parts are guaranteed. Have used rigs checked by the manufacturer before you buy.

What the thread found

  • The Artemis Cine HD sled features a sturdy and modular design that can withstand impacts with walls without damage to the camera or top stage
  • The top stage of the Artemis Cine HD remains stable and rock solid during running shots with no unwanted vibrations
  • The sled offers excellent battery placement options with variable position rosette for adjusting battery height at the back
  • The vest is comfortable and light with a thick chest spar
  • The arm has limited boom range
  • Battery level indicators on the Artemis model are highly valued by operators
  • The gimbal can be replaced with aftermarket options like XCS brackets and gimbles

Depends on

  • The boom range of the arm is limited
  • Most operational experience shared dates back to 2003-2008
  • Gimbal smoothness comparison was only made against the PRO model, not extensively tested
  • XCS gimbal replacement option was not tested by those providing feedback
