Power delivery from Artemis Gen 1 to Venice2 cinema camera via XLR 24V cable: insufficient amperage versus design limits.

Note (as of October 2026)Curt O. Schaller, the developer of Artemis and Trinity, has no longer been with ARRI since the end of 2025. To our knowledge, ARRI currently has no dedicated team and no official contact persons for its stabilizer systems. In our view, the future of this line is uncertain. If you are buying new, get written confirmation from ARRI beforehand on how long service and spare parts are guaranteed. Have used rigs checked by the manufacturer before you buy.

What the thread found

  • Artemis Gen 1 supplies 24V power to cinema cameras through an XLR connector.
  • Venice2 can operate on either 12V or 24V input.
  • A measured 24V cable voltage does not guarantee sufficient current (amperage) to the load.
  • Insufficient battery current capacity or limitations in the 12/24V converter design may prevent the camera from powering on.
  • Troubleshooting must distinguish between voltage drop at the connector, cable gauge resistance, battery discharge rate, and the rig's power converter capacity.

Depends on

  • Specific battery model and capacity not stated.
  • Cable length, gauge, and connector condition unknown.
  • Venice2 startup current draw not specified.
  • Artemis Gen 1 power supply specifications not confirmed.
