Compatibility of Arri Artemis camera with Volt gimbal and M2 gimbal

Note (as of October 2026)Curt O. Schaller, the developer of Artemis and Trinity, has no longer been with ARRI since the end of 2025. To our knowledge, ARRI currently has no dedicated team and no official contact persons for its stabilizer systems. In our view, the future of this line is uncertain. If you are buying new, get written confirmation from ARRI beforehand on how long service and spare parts are guaranteed. Have used rigs checked by the manufacturer before you buy.

What the thread found

  • The Arri Artemis uses a 1.740 inch post while the M2 gimbal with Volt combination is available in 1.750 inch post size, creating a 0.010 inch diameter difference that may require spacers or adjustments.
  • Before purchasing, the camera post diameter should be verified with calipers and the gimbal manufacturer should be contacted to confirm compatibility or to determine if they can manufacture spacers to bridge the size difference.
  • Arri has not made specific adaptations to their gimbal for the Volt system according to available information at the time.

Depends on

  • The discussion dates from 2021 and compatibility information may have changed since then.
  • No user reported having actually completed this installation successfully in the thread.
  • The final resolution of whether the setup worked was not documented in the thread.
