Artemis sled gimbal stabilizer setup with integrated monitor
Note (as of October 2026)Curt O. Schaller, the developer of Artemis and Trinity, has no longer been with ARRI since the end of 2025. To our knowledge, ARRI currently has no dedicated team and no official contact persons for its stabilizer systems. In our view, the future of this line is uncertain. If you are buying new, get written confirmation from ARRI beforehand on how long service and spare parts are guaranteed. Have used rigs checked by the manufacturer before you buy.

What the thread found
- A stabilized gimbal can be mounted directly to the top of a camera sled post, bypassing the x/y stage, to maintain rigidity and center alignment.
- A small monitor mounted on the gimbal handle allows the operator to see the shot at all times when the main monitor is not visible due to camera angles.
- A joystick controller on the gimbal handle provides tilt control.
- The gimbal must bolt directly to the post rather than to an x/y stage, which may limit compatibility with certain sled types.
- Counterweights for the gimbal were designed to be simple and compact.
Depends on
- Compatibility with sled types that use x/y stages as the top mounting surface remains unclear.
- Mounting a monitor on the gimbal handle presents practical concerns including weight, operator proximity, cable management, and maintaining proper frame alignment during pans.
- The account of technical specifications comes from a secondhand recollection during informal circumstances.
