Archer 2 gimbal sled pans unintentionally during gimbal rotation with Volt system
What the thread found
- When rotating an Archer 2 gimbal left and right while using the Volt system, the sled may pan on its own even without hand contact on the gimbal sleeve.
- Cold temperatures can worsen or trigger unintended panning behavior in the Archer 2 with Volt setup.
- Heating the gimbal with a hairdryer can temporarily improve the condition.
- Pan bearing contamination may cause pan wag and unintended sled movement during gimbal rotation.
- Excessive tension or lack of slack in the Volt cable routing can influence pan behavior.
- Replacing the main board in the gimbal unit or the encoder sensor has resolved similar issues in some cases.
- Adjusting side-to-side control while tilting with Volt enabled can stop unwanted panning.
Depends on
- One solution involved component replacement at a service center and may not apply universally.
- No confirmation whether the heating fix was permanent or only temporary.
- The relationship between cold temperature and this specific issue is observed but not fully explained.
- Whether the problem occurs with the gimbal on a balancing stud versus when being handheld was not clearly determined.
