Calibrating the digital level (artificial horizon) on a camera rig monitor
16 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.
What the thread found
- The digital level indicator in the monitor can be calibrated by placing a bubble level on a surface parallel to the camera's bottom frame, angling the rig until the bubble reads level, then pressing and releasing the horizon button quickly so the display reads level
- The horizon button has multiple functions depending on how long it is held down: a quick press sets the level, while longer presses perform reset and invert functions for low mode operation
Depends on
- Instructions derived from the manual for an Ultra2c model
- The exact duration thresholds for different button press lengths are not specified in the discussion
