ALEXA 35 receives no power from Trinity 1 with 24 V upgrade despite correct voltage output

Note (as of October 2026)Curt O. Schaller, the developer of Artemis and Trinity, has no longer been with ARRI since the end of 2025. To our knowledge, ARRI currently has no dedicated team and no official contact persons for its stabilizer systems. In our view, the future of this line is uncertain. If you are buying new, get written confirmation from ARRI beforehand on how long service and spare parts are guaranteed. Have used rigs checked by the manufacturer before you buy.

What the thread found

  • The ALEXA 35 input range is 20.5–33.6 V; at 31.6 V output, the Trinity 1 with 24 V upgrade falls within specification and should power the camera.
  • First troubleshooting step: verify pin assignment of the camera cable; carry a second original ARRI cable for comparison testing.
  • Several operators report intermittent power failures on the ALEXA 35 when connected to external power sources other than onboard batteries or ARRI power supplies, occurring on both Trinity 1 and Trinity 2 rigs.
  • Technicians investigating these cases suspected a defective voltage regulator in the camera.

Depends on

  • Symptom may depend on cable condition and connector pin integrity.
  • Intermittent failures suggest a component-level fault rather than a configuration issue.
