Powering an ARRI Alexa 35 from a Steadicam® PRO sled with CineLive electronics: 24 V battery configuration.
What the thread found
- The Alexa 35 is a native 24 V camera and does not require 26 V batteries; switch the sled to 24 V mode and supply it via a 24 V cable.
- One operator reported reliable operation with three 12 V Gold Mount batteries in series (24 V mode) on the sled.
- ARRI cameras are typically designed for native 24 V operation.
- Two 12 V batteries in series provide longer runtime than the same batteries in parallel configuration, because current draw is halved at the higher voltage.
- A 12/24 V XLR Gold Mount plate combined with a 24 V 4-pin XLR to CineLive cable is one viable setup; alternatively, power the camera battery slot directly.
Depends on
- Configuration depends on battery capacity and rig power draw.
