PRO Titan arm low mode bracket orientation and arm post retention solutions

13 years old. Gear and prices may have changed since.

Note (as of October 2026)Curt O. Schaller, the developer of Artemis and Trinity, has no longer been with ARRI since the end of 2025. To our knowledge, ARRI currently has no dedicated team and no official contact persons for its stabilizer systems. In our view, the future of this line is uncertain. If you are buying new, get written confirmation from ARRI beforehand on how long service and spare parts are guaranteed. Have used rigs checked by the manufacturer before you buy.

What the thread found

  • The low mode bracket should be oriented so that the gimbal arm remains in its normal upright position, not rotated 90 degrees from typical operation.
  • The arm post is held in place primarily through adjustable friction via a tightening mechanism, and tension can be increased to prevent slipping.
  • When storing the arm vertically by inserting a docking pin into the arm post, the post may slip out of its bearings if friction is set too loose.
  • Adding a second post collar or clamp below the lower bearing flange can prevent the arm post from slipping during vertical storage.
  • The flight pin holes on both the low mode bracket and gimbal handle should be aligned parallel to their respective components when properly assembled.
  • Basic arm cleaning can be accomplished by wiping with a damp microfiber cloth, while heavy mud buildup requires removing cartridges and rinsing the arm with water.

Depends on

  • The original poster did not provide photos of their setup, making it unclear whether assembly was incorrect or if different arm versions had incompatible orientations.
  • No consensus was reached on whether the arm post retention issue occurred with all models or was specific to certain configurations.
  • One user reported using a workaround with a second post clamp but noted difficulty finding documentation showing this as a standard solution.
