Identifying compatibility and voltage configuration of sled camera cables for ARRI ALEXA Mini, Mini LF, and ALEXA 35.
What the thread found
- The 3-pin connector is identical across ALEXA Mini, Mini LF, and ALEXA 35 cameras, but external inspection cannot determine whether the cable is wired for 12 V or 24 V operation.
- To identify cable voltage: unscrew the coupling nut on the 3-pin connector and inspect the pin configuration, verify with a multimeter, or read the voltage display on the camera itself.
- The critical difference is whether pins 6, 7, and 8 of the 8-pin camera connector are routed to the 12 V or 24 V pins of the sled connector.
- For 24 V operation, set the sled to 24 V and install batteries in the correct positions; if the cable is wired for 12 V, an ALEXA 35 will not operate regardless of sled setting.
Depends on
- Sled model and power tap configuration.
- Cable age and manufacturing batch.
